Bridport Antiques is set to star in the Antiques Road Trip next month.

Back in August, Richard Payne-Withers, owner of Bridport Antiques, had a visit from Catherine Southon and Izzie Balmer of BBC show.

What should have been a fleeting visit ended up with them exploring the West Street shop for four hours, looking in cabinets, perusing paintings and admiring the furniture.

At the time of filming Richard Payne-Withers said: "They were extremely complimentary; Catherine even loved my jacket.

"It was great to actually meet two of my favourite experts from the show - they were very friendly and loved the shop.

"They picked out quite a few items and individually we had various discussions about their history, age and provenance. Izzie eventually settled on a signed sketch of the Reverend Walpole dated 1810 with inscription on the reverse, six Austrian green stemmed glasses from 1900 and a lovely gold quartz ring.

"Catherine fell in love with a Victorian Burr Walnut Campaign Humidor and a lovely silver schnauzer dog broach.

"At the end, they sat even end of our very long dining table, chatting about their day and Bridport Antiques and then left to go to the Watch House Café in West Bay for their reveal of their purchases plus a late brunch.

"All in all, it was great to have them visit and a promise that they will personally return as will Antiques Road Trip."

The episode is set to air on Friday, December 11 on BBC Two.
