Students at the Sir John Colfox Academy celebrated the end of their time in Year 11 with an ice cream in the sun.

After a day of fond-farewells, students enjoyed a celebration assembly from their tutors and heads of school.

Graham Farrow, head of Year 11, said: "The students were exemplary. The atmosphere around the school has been fantastic and the students have all had a day to remember."

Deputy head Laura Webb added: "The students were delighted to receive an ice cream from Gelateria Beppino, which really made the afternoon special.

"Our thanks to Suzanne and Giuseppe Bosi for their kind generosity."

Headteacher Adam Shelley said: "We are proud of our students, and the Year 11 in particular have shown great resilience and positivity during what has been a challenging year.

"Although we are saying goodbye to them, we know we will see many of them return to school for sixth form and the induction events that we have organised for later in June."
