Veterans and members of the public gathered at Mountfield for a special D-Day service to mark its 77th anniversary.
A short act of remembrance was held at the 16th infantry war memorial on Sunday, June 6 to honour all those who fought and those who lost their lives.
The service was led by the Rev Pete Stone and local historian Jane Ferentzi-Sheppard spoke about Staff Sgt. Ray Lambert, who was one of the last surviving soldiers from the first wave of the D-Day invasion of Omaha Beach. He was stationed in Bridport and died in April aged 100-years-old.
Bridport mayor, councillor Ian Bark, also gave his thanks to everyone who attended.
