Dorset Farmers' Market returns to Bridport and will be taking place in Barrack Street today (Saturday).

The monthly market from 10am to 2pm will feature James's Cheese, Weymouth51 chilli sauces, The Baking Bird, Olives and Things, Bridge Farm Cider and Fordington Gin. There will also be Dorset Food and Drink members Jason Russell with amazing sharpeners, Rachel Dunstan of Buckshaw Milk Sheep, Tracey Collins of Ajar Of and Nigel Cox with fresh fish.

Measures have been put in place to ensure social distancing and the safety of customers and producers, including signs, floor markings and a dedicated person will be on hand to advise customers on how things work and will be strongly encouraged to remain two metres apart.

Customers are asked that only one person from a household comes to the market and alcohol gel, towels and gloves will be available. There will also be a one-way system with numbers of customers limited at any one time. Customers should pay by card wherever possible.

A spokesman for the event said: "Dorset Farmers' Market want to assure our customers that despite the challenges thrown up by Covid-19, we are committed to providing fresh, local produce in a safe environment.

"To be a member of Dorset Farmers' Market, all of our producers complete a Covid-19 workplace risk assessment to ensure that their businesses are operating to the required government Covid-19 standards and meet all Food Standards Agency guidelines."
