The Dorset Police Rural Crime Team are taking their Rural Engagement Van across the county this month.

Rural crime is an issue for large areas of the country, but it tends to go unreported. It can impact on insurance premiums, food prices and damage local communities.

Types of rural crime include agricultural, equine, wildlife and heritage. It can be hard to know whether something is a crime and whether to contact the police or another charity or organisation.

The Dorset Police Rural Crime Team, working alongside Neighbourhood Policing Teams and Country Watch partners, will be on hand at locations across the county this month, offering advice to those who may be affected by rural crime.

The team will be at the following locations:

The Square, Beaminster - Monday, May 15, 10am to 11am

Cranborne Garden Centre - Friday, May 19, 3pm to 4pm

Shillingstone Steam Fair - Saturday, May 20 and Sunday, May 21

Mole Country Stores, Dorchester - Wednesday, May 24, 2pm to 3pm

The Udder Farm Shop, Gillingham - Friday, May 26, 10am to 11am
