Residents can enjoy history at home with Bridport Museum's photograph collection and stories.

The team at Bridport Museum is combatting the lockdown blues by looking back and sharing some quirky snippets of the town's history online.

Lots of people have been reminiscing about the long queues outside George's Bakery, which used to be in East Street - with a favourite bake being their enormous 'Jammy Men'.

Museum director Emily Hicks said: "We can't wait to reopen our doors, but once again, we're continuing to bring your town's history to you from the comfort of your armchair.

"You can join in with the reminiscing, or simply browse our photograph collection on Flickr.

'Our volunteers have been busy researching too and there is a wealth of stories to read about on our website, from Bridport Tiger to the town's connections to slavery."
