An auction of a record signed by Primal Scream's Bobby Gillespie has raised more than £100 for a community facility.
Roy Gregory, who owns Clocktower Music at St Michael', said: "We posted the record on our social media on Record Store Day and it generated great interest, including a repost by Bobby Gillespie of Primal Scream and people asking to buy it.
"One of the team, Jackie Cook, observed, given the interest, wouldn't it be a nice idea to auction it for the community project that we support, the 2020 Skate and Ride and Gore Cross. We have been fundraising from donations of records and CDs by customers for a while and this is just another step along the way.
"We choose the community project as I believe that if you are able, it's good to support local ones and that as it's aimed partially as a younger audience and is a physical activity, it is important to help. Plus knowing Rob Ridge [who runs 2020 Skate and Ride] and the others who set it up, I admire the skill and dedication and the tremendous free time they donate to the venture.
"We did ask if Bobby Gillespie was ok with us doing an auction, his answer, 'absolutely'."
The auction raised £135 for 2020 Skate and Ride with Clocktower Music covering the costs for fees and postage.
Roy added: "A splendid contribution, plus good publicity for the project and hopefully will persuade other business units to start or continue their support of local community projects as their income will have diminished in the present situation."
