Firefighters were called to help a man who had fallen through a roof.

Bridport and Charmouth crews responded as the man was lodged in the ceiling at a building site in Veriotts Lane, Morcombelake

A spokesman for Charmouth Fire Station said: "On arrival we immediately requested the assistance of our technical rescue colleagues based at Weymouth as the gentleman was suffering pelvic and lower back pain and sat astride a roof beam, which was part of a new roof construction.

"Crews administered first aid to the gentleman and prepared a safe platform for the oncoming paramedics and tech rescue crews to safely work from.

"He was given pain relief and safely packaged up and removed from the top of the building being relayed to hospital by road ambulance."
