The Environment Agency has issued a flood alert for the West Dorset Coast, particularly West Bay Harbour, this evening (Wednesday) and overnight.
High tides and strong winds are likely to cause flooding in the West Bay area. High water is forecast for 4.30am tomorrow morning.
A spokesman for the Environment Agency said: "Flooding to roads is possible at this time, however, conditions may apply one or two hours either side of the high tide.
"We believe there is a possibility of flooding for West Bay Harbour and the tidal stretch for the River Brit.
"We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences.
"Please be careful along beaches, promenades and coastal footpaths and roads."
