Get your cars ready - a charity wash is being held at Bridport Fire Station.

Firefighters will be washing cars in return for donations - suggested minimum £5 per vehicle - at the station in Sea Road South this Saturday (April 16) to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity.

They will be there from 10am to 2.30pm.

Crew manager Chris Hobby said: "The charity provides everyone within the fire and rescue service with a vital lifeline when things are tough, whether its rehabilitation after injury or someone else to turn to during mental health or financial challenges. We know that income has dropped significantly during the pandemic, so we're keen to raise as much as we can for this great cause."

The Fire Fighters Charity offers specialist, lifelong support for all serving and retired members of the UK fire services community, empowering individuals to achieve mental, physical and social wellbeing throughout their lives. It is reliant on donations from the fire and rescue community and general public to meet the £10 million cost of operating its centre and community-based services to support more than 55,000 beneficiaries.
