A local virtual reality creator has partnered with The Lyric Theatre and Arts Development Agency to deliver a unique tech training opportunity

New training opportunities to design and create apps is coming to Bridport.

Hester Schofield, local virtual reality creator has partnered with The Lyric Theatre and Arts Development Agency to deliver a unique tech training opportunity for local unemployed or self employed who are seeking new career options .

The European Social Fund and the Government's Education and Skills Agency have funded a two week, full time training programme from June 27 to July 8 at the Lyric Theatre in Bridport .

The training will equip trainees to design and produce augmented reality apps for mobile phones/microsoft hololens and virtual reality apps including interactive games, meditation apps, walking guides and storytelling maps. Funding will also provide equipment to set up an XR Community Hub in Bridport so that organisations, businesses and individuals can design their own apps and access a rapidly expanding global XR industry and market.

Hester is currently looking for local community organisations who would like an app designed by trainees that promotes their cause or would help them reach out to their community. For further information contact [email protected]. Enrolment deadline for training is April 30.
