More than 250 faced the wet bank holiday weather to celebrate MayFest with Bridport Community Orchard.

The crowd joined in with the crowning of the May Queen, who danced with the Jack-in the green and presided over the Bridport Mummers who performed the story of Robbin Hood, narrated by Martin Maudsley.

Wyld Morris entertained the crowd and there was maypole dancing, with visitors also able to make their own flower garlands, wild flower seed bombs, listen to stories from Lu Orza and see some magic from the Big Foolini.

Drinks and cakes were available, along with cider from Dorset Nectar.

A spokesman for Bridport Community Orchard said: "The orchard was looking beautiful swathed in blossom with our three visiting sheep helping to set the scene.

"We want to thank everyone who came along and the boundless energy of all the volunteers who made it happen. Final mentions to Waitrose, Morrisons and Bridport Christian Fellowship for donations of flowers and drinks."

Thank you to Tim Russ for the photos.
