Groves Nurseries has had an incredible response to its Christmas tree appeal this year.

More than 20 businesses and groups have come forward to sponsor a tree that will be given to a school or charity this year.

Here are some of those that are supporting the campaign:

Bridport Round Table

Members hold events throughout the year, such as the beer festival and Boxing Day Swim, to raise money for local good causes and charities in the town.

The group is currently raising money for its Christmas Hamper Campaign to give families in Bridport a Christmas dinner this year. To donate, visit crowdfunder.co.uk

A spokesman for Bridport Round Table said: "Bridport Round Table is always very appreciative of local businesses and their support to the many events we do each year. The Groves team has helped us with our Rocktoberfest this year and also with the annual supply of the Bridport town Christmas tree that we buy and help erect.

"We jumped as a group to help support them. We will keep in touch with Groves to see if we can help in any way to ensure the campaign reaches all the charities and schools they have hoped to provide a tree for."

Man and Van Bridport

Man and Van Bridport is an independent local business providing light haulage, courier services and small home removals in Dorset and around the UK since January 2014.

The team prides itself on reliability and great customer service, no matter how large or small the job, and can do long or short distance, from small home removals to collecting that online auction must have.

Jay Cox, of Man and Van Bridport, said: "I decided to take part in Groves Nurseries' sponsor a tree scheme because it fits with my ethos of supporting local events, charities and good causes wherever I can.

"The community has given us lots of support since starting out nearly 8 years ago and it's great to give something back."

Bredy Veterinary Centre

Bredy Veterinary Centre is a locally owned practice managed by local people, offering an emergency service 24/7, taking care of your animals, large and small alike.

It is an RCVS accredited practice, for both pets and farm animals, which means the practice has voluntarily undergone regular inspections by the Royal College of veterinary Surgeons. These ensure it provides and maintains high standards of veterinary care in all aspects.

"Bridport is a wonderful, vibrant and caring community and we want to be a part of the heart of that."

Phil, of OCD Cleaning Services Beaminster, said: "I saw the advert and thought, 'what a great thing to do for those who may not have a tree at Christmas'.

"It's normally big companies that have the opportunity to sponsor things and I thought this would be a lovely for us little guys to do our bit for the community if at all possible.

"A very worthy cause and I hope it brings some Joy and happiness to the benefactor."
