Coronavirus cases across both the Dorset Council area and Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council area again remain stable this week.

Public Health Dorset reports there are 34 confirmed cases in the last seven days in the Dorset Council area, compared to 46 on April 30, and 65 in the BCP Council area, compared to 56 on April 30.

The seven-day case rate per 100,000 of the population in the Dorset Council area is 9, compared to 12.2 on April 30, and 16.4 in the BCO Council area, compared to 14.2 on April 30.

There are currently nine Covid-19 patients in hospital beds in Dorset, compared to six on April 30.

A spokesman for Public Health Dorset said: "Local seven-day case rates across the Dorset Council and BCP Council areas remain stable again this week, with around 10 to 20 cases per 100,000 of the population in both council areas.

"Our data shows that the number of people in Dorset hospitals with Covid-19 has remained in single figures over the past few weeks, and Covid-related deaths in both council areas are at 0.

"Thank you to everyone who has played their part in keeping case rates low.

"The lockdown has helped to bring our cases, hospitalisations and deaths down in Dorset, but we do need to keep following the rules and guidelines and keep following the hands, face, space measures to keep yourself and others safe, and to prevent a further surge locally. For now, you can only meet up to groups of six or two households outdoors.

"We are continuing to encourage all adults in Dorset to take part in twice weekly rapid lateral flow testing, which you can order online, collect at a pharmacy or a local test site."
