PLANNING applications across Bridport, Beaminster and Lyme Regis have moved forward this week, with Dorset Council approving a range of home improvements and residential alterations.
The long‑established camping operation at Pilsdon View Campsite has been formalised with permission granted to continue use of the land for seasonal camping and retain existing facilities.
In Beaminster, Dorset Council approved several schemes reflecting continued investment in rural homes. At Stoke Water Farm the conversion of storage areas into residential accommodation, along with the creation of a private amenity space was agreed. Meanwhile, Chantry Farm secured permission for two‑storey and first‑floor extensions to its farmhouse, enabling significant expansion and modernisation of the property.
Elsewhere, a development at 8 Millfield was also approved, allowing a detached annexe within the property's curtilage to be built for family use.
In Lyme Regis, several residential improvement schemes have progressed. At 18 & 20 Bedford Place, councillors approved the partial rebuilding of a shared front chimney stack under listed building rules.
Homeowners at 12 Blue Waters Drive have been given the go‑ahead for an extension and garage conversion, creating a new bedroom and bathroom along with changes to parking arrangements to better support the updated layout.
At 5 East Cliff, permission has been granted for a single‑storey extension, new entrance, window replacements, roof repairs and the installation of an air‑source heat pump.
