Local arts collective Chasing Cow Productions will host a launch event this week for the eighth issue of its arts and culture magazine, Matter Out of Place (MOOP).

The launch event will be held on Thursday, July 27 from 7pm to 9pm, at the WI Hall in Bridport.

Themed around a Bruno Latour idea of "unfreezing the landscape", MOOP 8 features pieces looking at Doggerland, medieval maps, beavers, plus original fiction and poetry.

This issue features guest contributions from Philip Webb Gregg and Dr Beci Carver, and an excerpt from Burnt Rain by Roc Sandford, a new Hazel Press publication.

Alongside the chance to pick up a copy of the magazine, the event will feature live music from Aidan Simpson, poetry readings by Jon Lever, and a guest talk by poet and artist Kim Squirrell.

Entry is free, with complimentary drinks and snacks available. Donations are welcome for a copy of the magazine.
