Chef and restauranteur Mark Hix has joined forces with forager Miles Irving to create unique seasonal foraging experiences.

Mark is known for his love of foraging and discovering wild food which frequently appear on his menu, and 20 years ago he crossed paths with forager Miles Irving when Irving started supplying The Ivy with its wild produce. They have worked together in many ways since, including restaurant supply, events and podcasts.

So, it seems only natural that they are now joining forces to create unique and bespoke foraging experiences complete with a home cooked meal at Mark's Charmouth house.

The Hix & Wild experiences are available all year round and are ideal for corporate events and team building, special events or simply an informative fun day out with friends.

Events are available for up to eight guests, starting the day with a coffee and snack at Mark's home in Charmouth. You will then travel to a local spot where Miles and Mark will educate you on the wild edible foods that are growing beneath our feet. After a morning of foraging, Mark will serve a light picnic lunch or barbecue lunch before heading off to another location for a further afternoon of foraging. Heading back to Mark's hoe with your foraged fayre, guests will then enjoy a six-course meal with wine, prepared and cooked for you at his kitchen table and hosted by Miles.

Miles said: "Learning to forage gets people doing what was completely normal for our ancestors; engaging with surroundings and seasons to find really nutritious and delicious foods.

"Habitually gathering wild foods enables us to think more organically about ourselves and the organisations we are part of. So, a day of foraging, cooking and eating wild foods is not just fun and interesting, it can be a starter culture for thoughts to bring transformation at both the individual and corporate level."

Mark and Miles will be creating each bespoke event around the seasons. In spring, guests can expect to forage for an array of spring greens, herbs and salads, summer will uncover the world of coastal plants and seaweeds, with wild mushrooms being the focus for autumn.

Mark said: "I have enjoyed my Kitchen Town events over the last 14 years and will continue to run them. But with my love of foraging and great friendship with Miles, creating these events seemed like a natural progression.

"What Miles doesn't know about wild food is not worth knowing. Every time I go foraging with him, I learn about new ingredients that I never knew existed. Not only that but the health benefits they bring too."

Experiences are available for eight guests and each event is priced at £4,400 and includes all food and drink and goody bag. It excludes transport.
