More than 100 people started 2022 running, walking or jogging a 5km route around Bridport St Mary's Playing Field.

The popular parkrun event took place on Saturday, January 1 and despite the rain, 125 people decided to put on their running shoes and take part. Some as far away as Cornwall and Manchester who were visiting the area also took part.

An organiser of the event said: "Happy New Year to all at Bridport St Mary's parkrun. Well done to all finishers - 125 of you! Thanks especially to all the volunteers. It was a tad soggy but that didn't dampen our spirits."

The event could not go ahead without volunteers and if you would like to volunteer, email [email protected]
