Bridport Community Carnival Committee is pleased to announce that both the annual carnival procession and torchlight procession will both be returning this summer.

Events will be held throughout carnival week from Monday, August 14 with the free carnival procession to be held on Saturday, August 19, starting at 7pm, and the popular torchlight procession on Sunday, August 20 at 9pm.

The whole community are invited to take part in both events – the more, the merrier!

Many local carnival events have folded due to a lack of enthusiasm and dwindling numbers of entrants, so organisers are calling for as much support as possible to ensure this does not happen in Bridport.

A spokesperson said: "All the committee can do is ensure safe and legal events can be held - the rest is up to each and every one of you.

"From the amount of people that come out to see the procession, it is obviously still enjoyed by all ages, so ensure its survival by entering, and making it a more creative platform that everyone can continue to experience."

Entry forms will be available this month – for more details visit bridportcarnival.co.uk/2023/carnival-week-2023 or email [email protected]
