Plans to convert a former day centre for the elderly into 10 flats have been submitted to Dorset Council.

The former Chancery House day centre in Bridport closed in 2018 due to a reduction in users and income and rising costs after serving the community since 1963 as a self-funded and independent charity.

The plans include 10 one-bedroom flats for 'social, affordable or intermediate rent' and have been proposed by a 'social landlord and charity endowed in 1696 for the poor of Bridport

There are no car parking spaces planned for the development – and there are none there currently - but 10 cycle spaces will be included.

The application can be seen and comments made on the Dorset Council website
