Police are appealing for information after a man was stabbed in the arm in Bridport

At around 1.40am yesterday (Tuesday, January 18) the victim was made aware of two people acting suspiciously around his vehicle, which was outside his address in Court Close.

He went out and chased the men down Kings William Head toward the A3066. The victim managed to catch up with one of the men and they were involved in a scuffle on the ground. The man managed to get away and the victim subsequently realised he had what appeared to be stab wounds to his arm.

The victim attended hospital for treatment to the injuries and has since been discharged.

Detective Constable Kim Williams, of Weymouth CID, said: "We are carrying out a number of enquiries into this assault and I would urge anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area during the early hours of Tuesday, January 18 to please contact us.

"I would also urge residents or any motorists who were in the area to check home CCTV and dashcam footage for anything that may assist our investigation."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk/do-it-online, via email [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55220009125.
