St Mary's Primary School in Thorncombe has been broken into and police are appealing for information.

Sometime between 9am and 9.30am on Sunday, May 29, entry was gained to the school in Chard Street.

It was reported that those involved forced open a fire door, which caused the intruder alarm to be activated.

Police Constable Kirsti Frecknall, of the Lyme Regis Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "It is not believed anything was stolen during this incident, but locked doors inside the school were opened up and entry gained to a classroom and staff area.

"I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious, or anyone who may have information about who was responsible, to please come forward."

Anyone with information should contact Dorset Police at dorset.police.uk, via email [email protected]or by calling 101, quoting incident number 55220085521.
