The new look Bridport Community Charter Fair is gearing up to once again become one of the town's major events.

Relocating from the town centre to Mountfield's Millennium Green, the involvement of community groups has almost trebled, with 44 organisations now taking part.

Amongst those providing entertainment for this free event - taking place on Saturday, May 14 from 9.30am to 3.30pm - will be the Bridport Choral Society, Bridport Musical Theatre, Bridport Young Performers, Chloe Rainey, Dan Shakell and Sue Smith, Phoenix Youth Band, Rough Assembly and Shiraz.

After an absence of some years, the traditional crowing of the May Queen will accompany Maypole dancing on the green.

The Jurassic Fields Music Festival will be providing the beer tent, whilst and array of refreshments will be presented by both the Bridport and Brit Valley Rotary clubs.

The Charter Fair Trophy will be presented by the mayor, together with the annual Above and Beyond Award.

The Bridport Community Charter Fair is a partnership between Bridport Town Council, Bridport Charter Fair, Bridport Rights Respecting, Bridport Community Fair and Love Your Local Market.

The 2022 Bridport Community Charter Fair has been sponsored by McCarthy Stone.
