Bridport cancer rehabilitation group, Stepping Out, has received a welcome boost in the form of a grant from the SPAR Community Cashback Scheme.

Stepping Out, which has been recognised for making an exceptional contribution to the local community, was awarded £2,000.

The aim of the group is to help members with their recovery, during and after their cancer diagnosis, by the provision of a group exercise and wellbeing scheme.

Stepping Out, which is based at Bridport Leisure Centre, holds a programme consisting of five sessions each week, including two circuit exercise classes, an educational talk, taster sessions in different activities and an indoor bowls session.

Stepping Out sessions are provided free of charge and this grant will help the group to continue this valuable service.
