Police enquiries into the Bridport incident are ongoing

A schoolteacher was reportedly punched in front of a class of pupils outside Bridport Library in South Street on Friday, March 3.

The incident took place at about 10.30am and the male teacher, who was accompanying his students on a trip, sustained injuries to his head and neck and received medical treatment.

Following police enquiries, a 45-year-old man from Bridport was arrested on suspicion of assault. He has since. been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

An investigation is underway and officers from the local neighbourhood policing team are aware of the incident and can be approached by anyone with any information or concerns.
