The A35 near Bridport was closed in the early hours of this morning, after two people were injured in a lorry crash.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the collision, which reportedly involved two lorries near the Askerswell tun-off, just outside Bridport, shortly before 3.15am.

The road remained closed until about 8.40am resulting in heavy rush-hour traffic in the Bridport area.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "Two people were treated by the ambulance service for injuries that are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.

"Road closures were put in place as emergency services responded to the incident and recovery was arranged."
