Bridport Barracuda swimmers had an extremely successful weekend at Poole Open Meet, returning with 17 medals and a club record.

Fifteen swimmers from Bridport attended the event in Dorchester, competing against other clubs in Dorset.

Will Caplen medaled in all five of his events with Oscar Vercoe, Rohan Vercoe, Daniel Hussey, Sam Westcott and Holly Symes all coming home with two medals each and Eva Cox and Lilly Shep both earning a medal each.

Holly Symes also broke the club record for the 100m freestyle.

Head coach Sophie Dawe said: "I'm so proud of all of our Barracuda swimmers that competed, the personal best percentage was incredible and we came home with a fantastic number of medals. Well done to each and every one of them, their hard work in training is certainly paying off and I was really impressed with their support for one another. I'm really looking forward to seeing what we can achieve at the next open meet."

Bridport Bridport Barracudas train at Bridport Leisure Centre and is a competitive swimming club offering swimmers the chance to compete in galas locally, through to national opportunities. For more information email [email protected] or visit swimbarracudas.co.uk
