A 'short act of remembrance for D-Day' will be held in Bridport on Sunday to mark the 77th anniversary and remember all those who gave their lives.

The Rev Pete Stone will lead a short service on June 6 at the 16th Infantry memorial in Mountfield, gathering at 2.45pm for 3pm. The mayor, councillor Ian Bark, will be representing the town.

In April, one of the last medics to survive D-Day, Ray Lambert, died in North Carolina aged 100.

Several local historians are researching various units of the 16th Infantry Regiment during their stay in the area.

If you would like to share any memories or stories, talk to them on the day. For more information, contact Jane on 01308 425710 or email [email protected]
