Thanks to the generous support of the community, the team at Prout Bridge Project has now got its outreach vehicle.

The #PBReachingOut campaign to deliver accessible activities and support for people in and around Beaminster has been a huge success.

Thanks to the generosity of all the people and businesses that have given money and rewards to the Prout Bridge Project Crowdfunder campaign and the time and support of many more, the charity has exceeded its target and can now take their work mobile into the community.

The campaign was also backed by Dorset Council, Comic Relief, Sport England - Return to Play, Power to Change Community Business Crowdmatch and the Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership Crowdfund Dorset Business, which enabled the Prout Bridge Project to meet its target.

The team would also like to thank corporate sponsors - Mayfair, Multiform, the Ollerod and Tangerine and all the local community business partners and patrons, their valued support and input into the charity has helped it get where they are today.

The outreach vehicle has been named 'Gilbert', affectionately named after Gil Streets, the late founder of the charity.

The van will be launched on July 25 at 11am to 1pm in Beaminster Square and 2pm to 4pm in Beaminster Memorial Playing Fields at the skate park, where you have the opportunity to win a new skateboard.

Paula Tuff, manager of the Prout Bridge Project, said: "Everyone at the Prout Bridge Project is so grateful to everyone who has supported our Crowdfunder campaign, we achieved the impossible and now have an amazing vehicle to take our services out and about to isolated areas.

"Young people in the community are also excited by the introduction of Gilbert and said, 'I can't wait for Gilbert to come to the skate park so that we can hire new skateboards and scooters with our friends'."

Everyone at the Prout Bridge Project team want to say a big thank you to everyone who supported the project. The team will continue to work tirelessly to provide youth work, mental health support and community outreach activities throughout the rest of 2021 and beyond.
