Bridport Community Orchard hosted a successful May Day celebration, with about 250 taking part in events.

With the sun coming out just in time for the annual Mayfest event, revellers were entertained by local musicians, storytellers, flower garland and mask making, and maypole dancing by the Lyric School of Dancing.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was local storyteller Martin Maudsley's delivery of a surreal May tale, which included a member of the audience fighting the green man using a dandelion as a weapon!

Grub the sheep made an appearance and enjoyed meeting the crowds, particularly the children, while adults were able to enjoy local cider, tea and coffee.
