Take care this weekend as Storm Bella is due to sweep across the area with winds of up to 70mph.

The Met Office has issued an amber warning for wind both today (Saturday) and Sunday.

The warning is in place from 8pm today until 9am tomorrow.

Storm Bella is expected to bring some disruption to travel with longer journey times and cancellations on rail services expected.

It could cause power cuts, damage to buildings and some roads could be closed.

It's advised not to go to West Bay or along the coast while the weather warning is in place as large waves bringing shingle could batter the seafront.

A spokesman for the Met Office said: "Very strong southwesterly winds are expected for parts of southern England, south and west Wales later Saturday evening and early Sunday, clearing southeast England around mid-morning.

"Inland gusts of 50-60 mph are likely, with a few spots likely to see 60-70 mph for a time. Hills and particularly coasts exposed to the southwesterly winds may see a few gusts of 70-80 mph.

"In addition to the strong winds, a period of heavy, squally rain is expected, which may well prove an additional hazard."
