Some of our wonderful independent, local businesses have been recognised and praises in the third Bridport Business Awards.

The awards ceremony was held in Martin's Bar and Restaurant at Highlands End Holiday Park in Eype, where business owners and representatives gathered to see if they had won in their respective categories.

Nigel Reeve, of Marketing West which runs the awards, said this year the awards had received 108 entries from around 50 different businesses, up from 94 last year and 32 the year before.

In particular, green entries had tripled year on year and had become one of the biggest categories.

Ahead of presenting the awards, Bridport mayor, councillor Ian Bark, gave his full support to Bridport's independent businesses, followed by Robert Muhl, president of Bridport Business Chamber of Trade and Commerce.
