Thorncombe Village Shop and its volunteers praised on BBC Spotlight

Thorncombe Village shop proved a light-hearted and happy ending to last night's BBC Spotlight news.
The shop, run by the community for the community, was praised for being a valuable asset to villagers during the lockdowns.
Residents are around five miles from the nearest supermarket so for some, the shop is a lifeline, without which they would be stuck.
But not only was it on hand for essentials during such a difficult time, the volunteers who run the shop delivered provisions, offered a listening ear for a friendly chat and gave advice to its vulnerable customers, forming a coronavirus help group.
The village shop, which was taken over by the community 11 years ago, has plans to help fund other community activities.
It's such a massive part of the village and "provides so much community life - the village wouldn't be the same without it".
