Vaccinations for Bridport's care home residents have begun, starting with Harbour House in West Bay.

Bridport Medical Centre announced last week it had received some AstraZeneca vaccines to enable staff to vaccinate care home residents as it can be kept at fridge temperature, making it easier to transport.

A team from Bridport Medical Centre attended Harbour House today (Monday) to give residents their first vaccines.

Anna Knight, registered manager at Harbour House care home, said: "Ninety per cent of staff have had their first vaccine, no more are able to have it due to personal circumstances, and 93 per cent of residents have had their first vaccine. Two residents unable to have it due to personal circumstances.

"That's absolutely fantastic and when the second vaccines are done, we will all be able to feel a bit more confident."
