The Christmas lights and trees are up, decorations are up and the town's shopkeepers have been busy decorating their windows.

And residents are being asked to vote for their favourite shop window display.

There will be an overall winning window, as well as highly commended. The winning retailer will be the one that receives the most votes and will receive a certificate to display in their shop window.

Terri Foxwell, of the Bridport Christmas Cheer committee, said: "This year we have decided to let the Bridport community vote for the best Christmas shop window.

"We are so lucky in Bridport to have so many local independent retailers who all make a real effort to decorate their shop windows to give the town that wonderful 'Christmassy' atmosphere.

"We do hope that you will take the opportunity to show your appreciation by voting."

Pick up a voting form from Bridport Tourist Information Centre or email [email protected]. The closing date is Saturday, December 18.

On Saturday, there will also be a special Christmas food and makers market from 8.30am to 3pm.
