Walk of the week: Short loop in Charmouth

This week's walk is a short loop in Charmouth, seeing sea and countryside.

It takes around half an hour and is just over one mile.

Start in Beach car park and come out onto the road, turning right and immediately taking the footpath on your right signed 'Riverway' and 'Campsites'. Go down the left-hand path.

Keep following the lane and it will turn into a footpath. When it comes out onto the road, cross the road and continue straight.

Walk past the fire station and when you come to The Street, cross the road and walk through Manor Farm Holiday Centre.

Follow the road through the campsite and where the road forks, take the left-hand path.

When you get to a barrier, turn left to go through the gate and walk over the bridge before going through the gate on your left into the playing fields.

Walk through the field and through a gate onto a lane, turning left. This will bring you back to The Street.

Cross the road and go down Lower Sea Lane back to the car park.

This walk is just a suggestion, you can of course take any different routes you wish to make it more direct or make it longer. Always take extra care where the ground is uneven or wet.

Please leave gates as you find them - if you opened it, close it.

Please keep dogs on leads around livestock.
