People are still being warned not to go near the most recent cliff fall at Burton Bradstock.

Dorset Council rangers have been checking on last week's rockfall and the cliff and fallen rock remains instable.

A spokesman for Dorset Council said: "People should stay away from the immediate area as a further fall or resettlement of the rocks now on the beach could happen at any time.

"The heavy rain that the county has received recently and the strong waves that are pounding the base of the cliffs will help destabilise it further.

"Warnings have been placed on the beach and the coast path is closed and has been for some time due to potential cliff stability. The footpath has been rerouted inland through National Trust land.

"The Jurassic Coast is a wonderful place to visit, but it's more important to use common sense and caution - stay away from the edge of the cliffs and always pay attention to warning signs and safety messages."
