West Dorset MP tackles livestock worrying after death of cow on Eggardon Hill
West Dorset MP Chris Loder has reaffirmed his commitment to tackling livestock worrying through legislation.
The local MP has been spearheading a campaign over the last 18 months to ensure that the matter is included in legislation. His efforts follow the death of Gladis, a pregnant Highland cow that fell 40 feett at Eggardon Hill, near Bridport, in 2022 after being chased by two dogs.
Mr Loder met with Gladis' owner, Cameron Farquharson, at the recent Melplash Show in Bridport to discuss progress with the campaign. You can watch their discussion in the video above.
The local farmer previously visited 10 Downing Street with Mr Loder to raise the issue.
Mr Loder said: "While the Kept Animals Bill was stopped a few months ago, we're now looking to bring forward specific legislation to tackle livestock worrying. I hope that will start to take place in November, and all being well, we can make Gladis' Law a reality."
