The West Dorset Group of the Somerset and Dorset Family History Society will welcome Richard Simms to its Zoom meeting on Saturday, May 8 at 2pm.

He will talk on 'Coker Canvas: The Textile Industry of the Somerset/Dorset Border', his latest book involving the textile industry in the area.

On Tuesday, May 11, Bridport History Society will host a Zoom meeting at 2pm entitled 'Mr Loveless and the Pig: Vanishing Dorset'.

George Wright is an international photographer who lives in Bridport and his book, 'Vanishing Dorset' explores vanishing rural life in the county and 'Mr Loveless and the Pig' is one such example.

He was able to capture on camera many areas of rural life that have now disappeared.

Everyone is welcome to attend both or either meetings and donations are welcome for those who are not members.
