Friday: Hive Co. Seaweed Night with Notpla

The Hive Beach Co uses seaweed packaging from Notpla for all its takeaways

The Hive Beach Co. is celebrating its partnership with Notpla, which produces revolutionary packaging solutions from seaweed and plants that biodegrade naturally in weeks.

Notpla's new range of seaweed-coated packaging is pushing the boundaries of sustainable solutions within the takeaway industry and the company was recently awarded the Earthshot Prize by Prince William.

Last-minute places for local businesses interested in going plastic free may still be available for Notpla's presentation at The Watch House Cafe in West Bay, with drinks and nibbles from 6pm on Friday, March 10.

Saturday: Jack Bessant & Damon Reece at Clockower Records

Jack Bessant and Damon Reece

Jack Bessant and Damon Reece will be performing live at Clocktower Records in Bridport with doors opening at 7pm on Saturday, March 11.

Jack is one of the founding members of the rock band Reef, and will be playing songs from his critically acclaimed solo records 'Been Notified', 'Lucky Mountain', 'Brother Thunder' and 'Surfin Safari Blues'.

Damon has played drums with Echo & the Bunnymen, Spiritualised and Massive Attack. 'Sun's Signature' is his most recent release with Cocteau Twins vocalist Elizabeth Fraser.

Saturday: Journey into French Music with Fifi La Mere

Fifi La Mere and Oliver Wilby

From Offenbach to Gainsbourg, Fifi La Mere presents an exciting insight into French music, accompanied by Oliver Wilby, as part of Artsreach's tour of rural Dorset venues.

She will perform at Powerstock Hut, near Bridport, from 7.30pm on Saturday, March 11.
