Dorset Council is warning residents to expect long delays and queuing if they visit the tip this Easter, advising them to postpone their trip if possible.

Social distancing measures will remain in place at all the council's household recycling centres (HRCs), which reduce how many people can be allowed on site at any time. Coupled with the expected increase in visitor numbers over the Easter weekend, long waits to enter each site are expected.

Dorset Police's Chief Constable is thanking residents for all they have done to help the fight against coronavirus, but is asking them to continue to play their part as restrictions lift.

On Monday, March 29, the Government's stay at home restriction was lifted and people are now allowed to meet others outside, including in gardens, in groups of up to six people or with members of two households. Outdoor sport and leisure facilities can also open.
