The first face-to-face meeting with children in Bridport Primary School's school council

Slow and steady progress has been made to transform a memorial to a five-year-old who died of cancer into a legacy offering support to any child in need.

Branden's Trail at Bridport Primary School was play equipment dedicated to pupil Branden Wayland but the area became derelict. A partnership between the Bridport Young Persons' Action Trust (BYPAT) and Bridport Town Council aims to rejuvenate the area with new equipment.

The constituent boundary proposals in red and the current boundary in blue

The West Dorset constituency could be made smaller in changes proposed by the Boundary Commission for England.

The boundary - represented in parliament by MP Chris Loder - to the west and north will stay largely the same, incorporating Lyme Regis, Mosterton and up to Sherborne, but to the east, it is proposed to bring the boundary in and not include Cerne Abbas, Piddletrentide or Piddlehinton. These would be included in the North Dorset boundary, which is represented by MP Simon Hoare.
