The Rotary Club of Bridport is a local branch of a worldwide organisation of enthusiastic men and women of all ages, dedicated to having fun whilst fostering projects which benefit the local community as well as national and international needy causes.

Rotary was launched in Chicago in 1905, and it arrived in Bridport in 1947. Today our club has 32 members who enjoy an active social schedule whilst endeavouring to make our town and our world a better place to live.

You will find our club welcoming and fun. In normal times we meet each Tuesday at 6pm at Bridport Golf Club, Burton Road, DT6 4PS.

We have various outings and speakers of interest.

We raise funds at many events in the town with barbecues for the carnival and Christmas Cheer and selling hyacinth bulbs on market days leading up to Christmas.

In addition, we have several social events throughout the year, many with partners and some with friends, including a summer barbecue, quiz evenings, skittles matches, theatre trips and lunches.

We are greatly helped in fundraising for local causes by our 20 business partners in the town.

Over the past decade our activities have raised: - £96,000 for local charities and organisations, including £41,000 for Bridport youth, £8,000 for national charities and £67,000 for international charities and international disasters, including more than £35,000 for Shelterbox.

We also contribute each year to Rotary's 'End Polio Now' campaign, which after three decades is now on the brink of ending Polio worldwide forever.

In addition to our fundraising activities, we are active in the local community supporting Kids Out, Youth Speaks competition for junior and senior schools, Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA), youth football, 2020 Skate & Ride and Bridport Bandits.

Should you be interested in expanding your social life and making new friends whilst at the same time serving our community, we would love to hear from you.
