Treat yourself to a scoop or two of delicious ice cream and help support those fleeing from the terrible crisis in Ukraine.

Bridport-based Baboo - run by Annie and Sam Hanbury - will be donating all proceeds from its kiosks in Bridport and Lyme Regis, as well as its new café in Swanage on Sunday, March 13 to Disasters Emergency Committee's Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

A feature of the new Swanage café is the letter menu board and when Annie went on Etsy to buy more letters, she discovered it was made in Ukraine.

Annie said: "I reached out to Danil from ShopDaddy to express our utter sorrow for what is happening to his country."

He replied thanking for her for her support and encouraged her to spread the word about what is happening in Ukraine amongst Russian propaganda.

Annie added: "Across Ukraine, families have been forced to flee their homes, often taking with them little more than the clothes they are wearing. Families have been separated. Homes and livelihoods, like Danil's have been left behind.

"We are feeling pretty helpless right now, but as a company we want to do something that will hopefully help.

"Therefore, on Sunday, March 13, we will be donating all proceeds from our kiosks and café to Disasters Emergency Committee's Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal."

The Disasters Emergency Committee works with member charities and local partners within Ukraine, Poland, Hungary, Moldova, Slovakia and Romania to help those fleeing the conflict, providing them with food and water, warm clothes, beds and washing facilities, as well as safe spaces for children.

Every pound raised with the Disasters Emergency Committee will be matched by the Government. Find out more at dec.org.uk
