Police are appealing for information after a car windscreen was smashed in East Street, Bridport

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward after a car had its windscreen smashed in Bridport.

It happened at around 2.15am on Sunday, September 26 while the car was parked on East Street.

It is reported that a group of people were seen running away from the area in the direction of South Street.

Police Constable Neil Gauden, of Bridport police, said: "This reckless damage has a significant impact on the victim and we are carrying out enquiries to identify who was responsible.

"I am appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened, or saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area, to please come forward.

"I would also urge local residents and businesses to please check their CCTV systems for any footage that may assist my investigation."
