A Bridport 'pub for all' has been named West Dorset Campaign for Real Ale's (CAMRA) Pub of the Year 2022.
The Ropemakers, run by John and Geraldine Baker since 2007, were awarded the accolade at West Dorset CAMRA's Dorchester Beerex beer festival.
The pub is a great example of a family-friendly pub with a real community feel. Various groups, clubs and activities take place in The Ropemakers, from dog walking, cheese nights, quiz nights and a popular venue for live music.
John and Geraldine said: "We are delighted to have been chosen as West Dorset CAMRA Pub of the Year for 2022.
"This is a wonderful reward for us and our fantastic staff and loyal customers. We have just completed 14 years at The Ropemakers and still love it.
"We see the Ropemakers as very much a community pub, catering for coffee drinkers, diners, quizzers, music lovers and of course, real ale drinkers and have been pleased to be in the Good Beer Guide for the last eight years."
The pub will now go forward into the Wessex regional finals of the CAMRA Pub of the Year awards.
