Staff from Bridport supermarket Morrisons raised more than £1,000 for Julia's House children's hospice with a sponsored in-store walk.

The walk was part of a regional fundraising event co-ordinated across all South West Morrisons stores, with staff walking on a treadmill making up the same distance as walking Mount Everest.

In Bridport, the challenge was started by the mayor, Cllr Dave Bolwell, who walked the first 15-minute slot.

Staff went on to complete their 42.75 miles throughout the day and had collection buckets in store for the weekend, as well as holding a tombola.

They raised a total of £1,091 for Julia's House, which supports children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and their families across Dorset and Wiltshire.
