Following the Prime Minister's announcement on Saturday, Bridport's Remembrance parade will now not go ahead.

Bridport Town Council and other local organisations had planned a socially distanced parade and service on Sunday, November 8, but the announcement of a second national lockdown has meant the events cannot proceed.

Town clerk Will Austin said: "We're very disappointed not to be able to go ahead, but we understand and support the need for restrictions to bring the level of virus transmission down to protect the NHS and save lives.

"We will ensure that wreaths from local groups can be laid, the union flag will fly at the town hall, and we are preparing a 'virtual' Remembrance video to be published online on Sunday morning, on our website at bridport-tc.gov.uk and across local social media channels."
