British violinist Emmanuel Bach and pianist Julian Trevelyan will join forces for a short tour of the South West, including Bridport, as part of the Concerts in the West programme.

As a young British-born violinist, Emmanuel Bach is gaining increasing recognition, performing in the UK, Europe, USA and South Africa, and broadcasting on BBC Radio 3.

He has performed numerous concertos, with Maxim Vengerov describing his playing of the Brahms Concerto as "a superb rendition... a deep and emotional performance".

He has also played as co-soloist with Anne-Sophie Mutter in J.S. Bach's Double Concerto. Competition successes include the Royal Over-Seas League Strings Competition 2018, and his discography includes 'Bach to the Future' (Salon Music, 2015), Musical Mosaics (Willowhayne, 2018) and Lennox In Paris (Willowhayne, 2022), which was described as "an intense journey through time".

Julian Trevelyan is a British pianist and performs regularly throughout Europe and the UK. In the current season, he has given five performances of Bartók's 1st piano concerto with Musikkollegium Winterthur, and two performances of Lutosławski's VariaIons on a Theme by Paganini for piano and orchestra with Pomeriggi Musicali in Milan.

Solo recitals have included performances of Beethoven's Diabelli variations in Festivals in London, Cambridge, Munich, Paris, Switzerland and Vienna. His recording of Mozart's piano concertos 23 and 24 with ORF Radio Symphonieorchester Wien, directed by ChrisIan Zacharias, was released by Alpha Classics in October 2022.

The duo will be appearing at Bridport Arts centre on Friday, October 6 as part of Concerts in the West's current programme. Tickets are now available at https://tickets.concertsinthewest.org/
