Extinction Rebellion is holding a 'Ceremony of Nothing' to mark two years of inaction from Dorset Council on the climate and ecological crisis.

The event will be hosted by Extinction Rebellion Dorchester, Weymouth and Portland and Extinction Rebellion Bridport in Dorchester on Sunday (May 16).

It will start with a gathering in the Borough Gardens from 11am before a march to South Walks House where a two minutes' silence will be held at 12noon. This will be followed by The Ceremony of Nothing, the Great Unveiling and more before relocating to Dorchester Vegan Market at Maumbury Rings for lunch.

It's hoped the first in-person People's Assembly of 2021 will be held at 2pm. Location to be confirmed.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own representation of 'nothing', or come empty handed, as well as ideas for what the council should have done in the last two years and can do in the next 12 months.

The usual Covid precautions will be in place - hands, space, face.
